I think it was Rahm Emanuel who said that a crisis is a terrible thing to waste. He referred the use of crises to enhance government power and the wealth of those in government. If this were not true, there would not be so much lying , manipulating of evidence, and attacks on the motives (and sources of funding) of those who question the orthodoxy. Not that anyone with a law degree has noticed. Those with PhD’s who receive grant money to investigate these disproved theories continue to promote them.
