Originally considered to be part of the Rat Terrier breed, American Pitbull Terrier American flag shirt the American Hairless Terrier was finally recognized as its own breed in 2004 by the United Kennel Club. Like many breeds, the American Hairless Terrier was begun when a puppy was born in a litter of terriers without hair. The owners of the litter, Mr. & Mrs. Scott, thought the dog was adorable and had a sweet demeanor so they worked to breed it and create other puppies with its traits. In 1981 the first full litter of American Hairless Terriers was born. American Hairless Terriers are a less aggressive little dog and are usually considered very cheerful. They are a socially sensitive dog so they are deeply in touch with their owner’s feelings and moods as well as being more easily trained.
