Basically Drew’s second paragraph covers most of it but they also added that criminal psychology is 90% desk work, 10% fieldwork. By fieldwork I mean interviewing subjects for research, liaising with police agencies and getting their views and talking to victims. Planes, guns, car chases, all out. The only time you would ever meet a criminal is if they were in prison or breaking into your house. If you were to be asked to help the police it would be as part of a team that would advise the police who would then act on the information.
